What the numbers mean in practice
12 wrong answers is your entire margin
At 73% you have a workable margin, but it disappears quickly if a whole topic is weak. Practise by topic to find out which one before the exam does.
120 seconds per question
That is enough time to read a scenario carefully, which is what this exam requires — the questions are longer and several answers are usually defensible.
Closed book and proctored
Scaled Agile proctors this exam, whether you sit it remotely or at a test centre. No notes, no reference material.
Topics assessed
SAFe SSM draws on 6 areas. The counts show how many practice questions we hold for each, which is a reasonable proxy for how much ground each covers.

How SAFe SSM compares
SAFe SSM exam questions
73%, which is 33 of 45 questions, in 90 minutes.
No. Scaled Agile requires attendance at the official course, and the exam attempt is included with it. This is the main structural difference from Scrum.org, where anyone can sit the assessment.
PSM I is about Scrum on one team. SSM is about a Scrum Master operating inside a train of many teams: PI Planning, cross-team dependencies, the Agile Release Train, and Lean-Agile principles that have no equivalent in the Scrum Guide.
Yes. SAFe certifications renew annually and carry a renewal fee, unlike Scrum.org credentials.
